Today we discuss how to create a Villianelle. Not an easy task. 6 stanzas, the first five have to be triplets and the last stanza a quatrain. The 1st and last lines of the first stanza are the last two lines of the last. The first and last lines of all stanzas must rhyme. The 2nd line of every stanza must rhyme with every other 2nd line. Oh and..... the first line of the first stanza must be the last line of stanza 2 and 4 and the last line of the first stanza must be the last line of stanzas 3 and 5.
Okay... Got all that.
So the older girls' challenge for the week is to finish the villianelle that we started today. We have the first stanza complete. So that's half the poem right?
