Goodbye to Warren

This afternoon was an old high school friend's funeral. Warren Parks was a person who truly lived his life. He sang, flew, explored and loved fully in his life. We first became friends years ago in our seminary class and we both shared a love for music in Choraleers together as well as many many other classes. At our last high school reunion we sat at the same table and reminiscence about where life had taken us. He invited Michael to work at the air show with him and made Mike feel welcome.
Warren and his wife Betsy had a list of places that they wanted to get married all over the world. So each year they would travel to one of these places and renew their vows.
His death and the others that were in the airplane was tragic and reminds me how everything in one's life can completely change in a few moments. Warren's family are members of our ward at church and his sister Corrine is inspiring in her own right. She struggles each week with her walker down the hallway but always has a smile and always contributes to the lessons. I am feeling a little sad for their loss. I am also feeling grateful for my family and the time we have together each day.
