Merry Christmas

Last night as I was writing the Santa letter to the kids I realize with a grateful heart that it was our first year in a very very long time that we have not had ANY traumatic hospital visits! Nothing bad occurred. We all were healthy. Lydia has done wonderful and Thayne is growing into a very active healthy non-stop boy. My heart is full of thankfulness for this. My children have an incredible man in their lives who chooses each day to be their daddy and love them. Right now we have a warm home that we feel safe in. Life is very good.
Our Christmas morning started after Quayde came in about 3 times full of excitement. We still have lots of wonderful gifts to open tomorrow. We celebrate all week long until New Years Eve. Tonight we watched a sad Christmas movie," The Christmas Shoes" it's based on the song by the same name. Drank apple cider, had pumpkin pie and enjoyed each others company. Michael now is glad that we will be able to get some sleep tonight after a long last week of staying up until 2 and 3 am trying to get things created.
I truly hope your Christmas was filled with the little things that make memories special. It's never the gifts we remember but the feelings and the things that we do with each other.
Merry Christmas!

really quick update

Family party was great! Pictures of crazy women to follow later. I've had enough of hosting ex-husbands and their families. Oh the gracious one am I!!!!!!! We are now wrapping and assembling a great many odd shaped things. One benefit of waiting until the last minute is that the stores are eager to get rid of stuff so they clearance them. Lyd's big Santa gift, the one that Michael is swearing at currently was about 75% off it's original price. Thanks to everyone! You know who you are! Off to wrap some more. Seem to have misplaced (mis-hid) most of Chaiya's gifts. Hope I find them by morning.

QOTD

Michael on step 15 of 27 in assembly, " Ahhh come on you can give me more of a hint than that"
talking to the instruction pages
We'll see how long the Santa gift takes to be assembled tonight

santas working

Really quick as it is 2:00 am. Michael and I have been up creating and designing things for the kids for Christmas. I think he is having as much fun as I! Both ex-husbands are coming , quite the shock. Sisters are coming, quite the happy surprise. Santa is still trying to figure things out but the elves have the stockings set and stockings are what it is all about on Christmas morning here!

New neighbors

Today I relinquished to the fact that the futon was never going to fit in this new house. We placed a free sign on it and just a few hours later our neighbors two doors down were singing our praises. They are having 10 extra people sleeping at their home this weekend and it was just what they needed. Yeah! Then they invited us down to see their miniature Christmas village that is set up all year round! We learned all kinds of interesting things about the surrounding neighbors which was very enlightening. We also learned that our address is wrong. It was supposed to be 426 but got listed as 416 which screws up everyone coming to our street. Yes, we had to chose the odd ball property. This probably explains why the 416 is in three different places and is very prominent.
Last night Lydia and I tried to get out some Christmas decorations and then Thayne broke several light globes and with glass everywhere, we gave up. So as of right now the extent of holiday spirit that Lydia and I could muster is in the form of a foil snowflake hanging above the entrance to the porch.
Our new neighbors Art and Joann assure us that our neighbor Rich, right next door, puts out enough holiday to accommodate the whole neighborhood.
